"Music for Two"

Music for TwoLearn beginning essentials of music with a family member or friend. Get a start in your favorite instrument, learn to play, read music, understand rhythm and gain an early understanding of your chosen instrument.

  • Semi private personalized instruction for two family members or friends for any of our popular instruments.
  • Class sessions are 45 minutes.  
  • Classes meet once weekly.
  • $100.00 for the session.*
  • $10.00 registration fee per student applies.**

Music for two is arranged for in four week sessions. Call the office for scheduling information.

The Language of Music: Introductory Level

This class is an excellent primer for future private instruction and is offered to students of high school age and older, adults and seniors.

  • Cappelli Institute of Music - LessonsMusic Structure and definition.
  • The staff, treble and bass clefs explained.
  • Note identification and reading, note time values.
  • Understanding rhythm and meter: an introduction.
  • How music is written. Examples provided.
  • Sharps, Flats, Naturals and Key Signatures explained and examples provided.
  • Definition of scales.
  • Basic musical terms.
  • Piano Keyboard explained. Demonstrations.
  • A look at the music timeline and periods of music including the Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary Periods. Listening examples provided.
  • Student and teacher mini performances of musical examples are presented at times.
  • Class meets t once weekly for four weeks. Sessions are 45 minutes in length.

Cost of Session: $ 150.00*
$10.00 registration fee per student applies.
Dates Offered: June 11-July 9, and July 16-August 6th.

In addition to these special summer class offerings, all of our private instruction is offered throughout the summer. Summer session runs through August 14th.
