” I believe that music creates a community between people that might not otherwise exist. When a student begins lessons it allows them to study something that they enjoy and form a mentorship with a role model. The teacher encourages practice and habits that lead to mastery. Eventually, a student can create music with other musicians and perform before an audience if they wish. This creates a dynamic between the musician and the audience. My teaching philosophy is that students should pursue their interests and music that inspires them. With an expert teacher’s help, and their dedication and practice, they will progress and grow in confidence. It is a joy to listen to students who can share their music with others.”
