Marlene Flood – Voice Instructor.

Marlene is an Equity Actress and Singer in Chicago.  Her regional credits include: Dialogues of The Carmelites (Lyric Opera of Chicago), Passion, The Taming of The Shrew and Sunday in The Park with George (Chicago   Shakespeare Theater).  She has performed Fosca in “Passion”   (Jeff Citation Award for Best Actress),  Porchlight Music Theater and many many   more roles.

Marlene has taught Musical Theater classes and workshops for the Metropolis Performing Arts Center and directed The Wizard of Oz for their Children’s theater company.  Marlene has taught preschool  theater classes for the Northbrook Park District, and has Assistant- Directed Summer Musical Theater   Products including Beauty and The Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid and The Lion King.

Marlene holds a Bachelor Degree in Arts: Theater Performance, a Bachelor Degree in Music: Vocal Performance and a Masters Degree in Music: Vocal Performance.

“I hope to inspire and encourage the joyful experience of singing vocal music and believe completely in the honest storytelling through lyrics of songs while expressing the musical message through phrasing and dynamics.”

Marlene teaches the basic technique of natural breathing and the focus of vowels in lyrics to create beautiful and healthy singing.
